Amazon is learned to be creating 5,000 more jobs in United Kingdom by the end of this year despite the fact several companies are planning to move out of the country to avoid cross-border travel restrictions after Brexit, withdrawal from the European Union bloc.

The retail giant also said some 10,000 more jobs will be added too in the rest of Europe, taking the total number of workforce to 50,000 by year-end.

Presently Amazon employs 19,000 people in the UK.

According to Amazon’s UK country manager Doug Gurr, the company will be creating thousands of jobs in the country and those will include hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities too while they continue with innovations to offer better value to customers as well as faster delivery.

Gurr added further, “We are hiring for all types of roles from test engineers, software engineers and corporate managers in our development centres and head office, to operations managers, supervisors, engineers, service technicians, HR roles and order fulfilment roles in our fulfilment centres”

Meanwhile, other tech giants too have talked about expansion in UK earlier. Google confirmed opening of a new campus and Facebook said to be adding up more 500 jobs. Apple on the other hand will be coming up with a new headquarters at the redeveloped Battersea Power Station by 2021.
