British PM Theresa May Phones EU Leaders Ahead Of Brexit Speech

British Prime Minister Theresa May is learned to have made several phone calls to many European Union leaders including Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel.

PMO spokesman said, “Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande both welcomed the Prime Minister’s commitment to the continuing strength of the EU, and her intention to negotiate a new partnership with the EU when it leaves.”

She said United Kingdom is leaving the single market of EU and will control the immigration. She added Britain will no longer tolerate the bossing of European judges over UK borders and Brussels could ot dictate terms of Brexit.

The EU chiefs hit back saying will be walking away from Brexit talks if Belgium fails to offer UK a good deal in divorce talks.

Belgian politician Guy Verhofstadt is in charge of Brexit talks for the European Parliament.

Verhofstadt aid, “Britain has chosen a hard Brexit. Mays clarity is welcome – but the days of UK cherry-picking and Europe a la cart [sic] are over.”

Meanwhile, EU Council president Donald Tusk welcomed May’s realistic Brexit plan and urged the 27 member states of EU to get ready to negotiate.

A Downing Street spokesman added President Tusk is seeking for negotiation in a spirit of good will after Britain initiates Article 50 for separation.
