China Tests Elevated Hybrid Bus/Train Called TEB That Can Travel Over Cars

China has come up with elevated bus/train hybrid that can travel over cars and over traffic. Videos and images of the concept Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) circulated in social media for some time and people found the idea of such vehicle to be great, but never thought it would turn to reality.

Today, Chinese Xinhua News agency said the TEB is a reality and the first model was tested on the streets of Qinhuangdao City for brake and power consumption.

The test model is powered by electricity and has the capacity of carrying 300 passengers. It is 72 feet long and 25 feet wide.

It is learned after the launching and when the vehicle starts operating in the Chinese cities, it may carry more than 300 passengers and its maximum speed to hit around 40 miles per hour, which is pretty speedy mode of public transport.

It is yet to see how the TEB runs commercially on city roads and whether other countries such as Brazil, India and Indonesia to adopt the concept for their massive traffic routes.
