French National Stabs To Death British Lady In Australia

A French national learned to have yelled “Allahu akbar” and killed a British at a hostel in northeast Australia, injuring two others too in the attack.

The 21-year-old Mia Ayliffe-Chung died at the scene Tuesady night in the town of Home Hill, in northern Queensland. A dog was fatally injured too.

The suspect is a 29-year-old French national. He is arrested but no known link has been found with the ISIS. Queensland Police Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said he had acted alone. He has not yet been charged and is considered to be a case of homicide and not terrorism.

Name of the suspect has not been released as Queensland police don’t do it. The identity was revealed after the suspect appeared in court.

Gollschewski said, “The associated issues of what motivated him and whether that has any relevance to radicalization is something we’re going to explore fully, but we won’t know for some time whether that’s the case.”

According to news report Ayliffe-Chung had been doing farm work near Home Hill to extend her visa. She had been living in Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland on a three-month trip. She had a deep affection for Australia.

Facebook post of the victim on August 20 read, “Day 4 done. Just 85 left!… Skills achieved; the ability to tell the difference between a rock and a clump of mud and throwing stones really far. The sun is too hot. Stupid Australia.”

Her sister said she had been on travel for about year.
