Is it the right time to say goodbuy to fossil fuels? Whether the answer is YES or NO, it is yet to be understood, but of course auto manufacturers are trying to change gear and shifting to other options. Lately Nikola has come up with a hydrogen-powered truck. It was unveiled in Salt Lake City and learned to be in production in another few years and probably become ready to transport goods in 2020.

From the unveiling event it is learned the class 8 truck to come in range of 800 to 1,200 miles between refueling. This means one full tank can cover the distance between San Francisco and Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Currently the supply of hydrogen is limited on the highways of United States and Canada. To overcome shortage the company said to be building up stations too in both the countries. The work will start in 2018 and to open up the facilities by 2019.

Nikola CEO Trevor Milton said navigation system fitted in the truck will determine which route to take between destinations to facilitate refueling on the way.

The company has not yet said anything about the pricing part of the truck. Milton added soon more details will be shared.
