According to the Russian Transport Ministry, the Turkey government has fulfilled requirements for lifting of the ban.

The Russian Transport Ministry said in a press statement the country has assured them about increased security measures to the travelers at its airports and also in the territory.

The ministry added flights will be resumed to Turkey and this would include the transit flights from third countries too.

Earlier, immediately after the coup effort to takeover control on Turkey, Russia had ordered its biggest airline Aeroloft to discontinue selling of tickets to Russians traveling to Turkey starting July 16 citing destabilized political situation in the country.

Aeroflot had sent empty planes to Turkey to bring back trapped Russians back home.

Meanwhile the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov said, “We are closely monitoring the situation in Turkey. Ankara assures us all measures are being taken to ensure the safety of Russian nationals staying in the country.”

In the failed coup attempt last weekend about 265 people were killed and more than thousands were injured in Turkey.
