Tanzania is seeking to attract tourists in the southern circuit too and so the government has come up with a new plan with the help of which tourism in the area could be promoted.

According to Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Jumanne Maghembo, the country’s southern circuit is untapped and has the potentiality of attracting tourists.

Maghembe said one of their commitments for the southern circuit is to make the strategy implemented by improving infrastructure like making better roads, good airports as well as offering standard accommodation facilities.

The minister added that the John Magufuli government wants to offer the southern circuit with better package to tourists so that tourism is encouraged.

Talking to the media on Monday in Arusha a senior official said government recognizes contribution of tourism to the economic growth of Tanzania.

Maghembe continued that they are working with World Bank too in the infrastructure improvement plan in Ruaha, Kitulo National Parks, Udzungwa and Selous Game Reserve.

He mentioned, “It is indisputable fact that the Southern Circuit has a lot of unique historical sites and national parks with rare animal species in the world.”
