It seems riders like knowing payment amount upfront instead of agreeing to those murky “2.1x” or “2.4x” or some other “x” amount.

Uber's Upfront Pricing Details Liked By Riders

Earlier Uber told it would be doing away with surge pricing and now it seems doing away with the feature. Now passengers can know the dollar amount and there will be no need of doing math and there will be no surprises.

Two years ago uberPOOL introduced exact fares feature and noticed people started taking Uber again by knowing how much the ride would cost them.

Uber said, “Knowing how much a ride will cost in advance is clearly something riders appreciate today uberPOOL accounts for over 20 percent of all rides globally.”

Also, uberPOOL is less expensive compared to other ride-sharing company and this is another reason for riders returning back to Uber apart from knowing the amount upfront.

Since April this year the product team of Uber has been testing the idea of upfront amount in select cities throughout the US and India.

The upfront price is based on expected time, distance traffic, number of riders requesting and number of drivers available.

Uber said they have rolled out the pricing transparency to places like Miami, Seattle, San Diego, New Jersy and New York in the US, and Mumbai, Hyderabad and other bigger cities in India.
