Britain has reopened its embassy in Tehran, Iran, on Sunday and the question arises why not United States.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has a different tone for it and says the talk for reopening the US Embassy will be too early. He said the illogical attitude of Washington towards the country meant it is not the right time.

During the early days of Islamic Revolution the US embassy was sacked by the students in 1979 fearing a 1953 coup may be repeated when Iran’s then prime minister was overthrown and CIA orchestrated everything. Even though the crisis lasted 444 days, but the two countries have not yet restored any diplomatic ties.

The British embassy was closed in 2011 when attackers ransacked British ambassador’s residence and burned Brtain’s national flag too.

Last month Iran’s disputed nuclear program reached Britian, United States and four other world powers. The reopening of the embassy was a reciprocal move following the deal.
