Windows 10 Business Edition Downloaded In 1.5 M Devices - Microsoft

The public launch of the operating system took place on July 29 and since then, in just about a month, it has been downloaded in 75 PCs, which is though just 5 percent of the PC market across the world.

The previous version, Windows 8, was downloaded in 40 million PCs in the first month after launching. It took about 6 months to reach the popularity of Windows 10 in one month.

The Windows 7 managed selling about 60 million units in the first 10 weeks after launching.

So far the numbers of Windows 10 are encouraging for Microsoft, which is free to download to those devices which are being run on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1.

Microsoft said the 1.5 million milestone is just a tiny fraction if considered total number of PC upgrades. It is usual practice for enterprise customers to wait before deploying major OS upgrades to overcome associated risks with the adoption.

To lure more and more enterprise customers, Microsoft has enhanced the new OS with such features that boost the security.
