It is suspected the women may have been driving under drunken condition. Among the dead includes a 2-year-old boy who died from the injuries at OU Medical Center Children’s Hospital, said authorities in Stillwater.

The three adults died at the scene. The authorities have not yet released the names of those killed and wounded. However, one name among the killed, Nikita Nakal, has been announced by president of the University of Central Oklahoma.

Nakal is an MBA student from Mumbai in India.

Spokesman Capt. Kyle Gibbs said the car’s driver, Adacia Avery Chambers of Stillwater, has been arrested on suspicion of DUI and has been taken to city jail. From the initial report she is not believed to be student of OSU. The 25-year-old drove 2014 Hyundai Elantra.

Megan Lantz of Ponca City, Oklahoma, said the car was driving at a speed between 45 and 50 mph.

She said, “We were facing the parade and heard tires squealing and then started to hear the car hitting things and people and there was screaming and people running away.”
