The Syrian regime and rebel forces halted violence paving way for the much-needed humanitarian access to besieged cities including the hard-hit Aleppo where over 6,000 people, mainly civilians, were killed or injured.

Laughs, giggles and excited voices of children were heard on the festive day while they lined up for simple amusement rides in one of the city’s ruins.

Aleppo has lately been the battleground of brutal fighting. Many residents have been killed and others have fled the city.

Decade ago it was a bustling economic hub that boasted over 2 million residents. Many tourists were lured by the ancient architecture and robust history of the land.

Just hours before the ceasefire on Monday evening airstrikes continued to bombard targets of the oppositions killing seven people including three children, revealed UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Civil war in Syria has killed for over 300,000 people and about five million have fled the country resulting with international refugee crisis.
