The protest was organized on Facebook by multiple smaller groups and it was dubbed as “March for Europe.”

However, the outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron said referendum will be respected as about 52 percent of people in the country voted for Brexit a week ago.

Following the announcement of UK to leave EU, Cameron said he will be stepping down.

Retired teacher Margaret Murray said overturning the referendum means political suicide by the country as 17.4 million voted for England to leave EU.

She added, “I think there’s a certain element of the population that thinks you can’t overturn the democratic will, however, I think it’s also important to not lie down.”

An estimate claimed by spokeswoman for the organizers revealed about 50,000 people was present in the protest through London.

The protestors also called on to provide a clear road map in partnering Europe.

They said, “Politicians must be prepared to put to the British people their prospectus for the new way forward through a general election or second referendum.”
