Considering converting to Islam, Damon Smith is also learned to have fake web profiles where he poses as women with the intention to talk with men from across the world.

Armed undercover officers arrested Smith outside London Metropolitan University in North London on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism.

Three weeks ago Smith enrolled as a student in the university.

Just 24 hours before his arrest a home-made device was found too on a Tube train that passed through Westminster and under Canary Wharf.

Smith lives in South Bermondsey with his 47-year-old mother Antoniza. Neighbors say the two had moved in earlier this year in May from their home in Newton Abbot, Devon.

It is also learned Smith was studying forensic science and became fascinated with Islam. People use to call him Ismail as he could quote the Koran.

Police of South London spent over 72 hours searching the Bermondsey property and even erected a large forensic tent in the garden.
