Australian Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley said it is about reaching out to friends, colleagues and family to ensure they are okay by simply starting a conversation as it will make a real difference to the life of someone.

She added such small acts of kindness could make the difference to someone struggling with a mental illness. It is simple. One just needs to listen to the person without judgement. This will provide support and can save a life.

Data reveals about 2,800 people die in Australia committing suicide each year.

Ley claims many of such deaths could be prevented.
