BREAKING: Nightclub In Cairo Attacked, 16 Dead

At least 16 people have been killed and 3 others injured in a firebomb attack on a small nightclub in Egyptian capital Cairo early Friday.

Initial report reveals three men threw Molotov cocktails into the restaurant housing a nightclub in the city’s Agouza district while being on a motorcycle.

A source adds one of the attackers may have been a disgruntled ex-employee of the nightclub.

Investigation is underway. The fire was quickly put out at the El Sayad restaurant, which is just a small local eateries and not officially a nightclub. It serves food and alcohol throughout the day, but turns into a bar until early morning hours.

Even though alcohol is legal in Egypt, but most of such eateries don’t have liquor licenses.

According to Ministry of Interior, the attack resulted with dispute between the staff of nightclub and some people.

Video footage showed thick black smoke at the entrance of the restaurant and onlookers outside it remained helpless.

The restaurant is housed on the ground floor of an apartment building.

In recent times Cairo has been attacked by Islamic militants several times and last month a Russian jetliner crashed and all the 224 people onboard were killed in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. Isis claimed responsibility of the attack.
