BREAKING: Suspected Man In Long Coat With Wires Surrounded By Police In Brussels

Amid the preparations of National Day across Belgium on the eve a man in long coat with wires coming out has been surrounded by police in central Brussels being suspected as a suicide bomber.

Shops in the area have been evacuated and streets have been blocked. Bomb squad has reached and photos from social media shows police are pointing guns at a man kneeling with hands up.

The man was behaving suspiciously and had worn a heavy winter coat in such warm temperatures, 30 degree Celsius.

Christian De Coninck of Brussels police said the suspect is under control and is being kept at a distance to avoid taking any risks.

More information is awaited from the bomb disposal unit.

According to BBC reporter in the city, special forces have been deployed at the scene, just outside Churchill’s bar.

About four months before suicide bombers attacked Brussels and killed 32 innocent people.

Police arrested a man last month amid anti-terror operation but found him to be wearing a fake suicide belt that contained just biscuits and salts.

Meanwhile, security in the city has been stepped up following the July 14 attack in Nice, France, and also ahead of National Day celebrations tomorrow, July 21.
