BREAKING: Typhoon Sarika Kills 2 Dozen In Central Vietnam

Typhoon Sarika killed two dozen people in central Vietnam on Sunday. At least four people are missing. Before approaching Vietnam the typhoon left two people dead and over 150,000 displaced in the Philippines.

The worst hit province in Vietnam is Quang Binh and authorities are searching the missing people.

In Hong Kong Typhoon Sarika is said to be hitting on Monday with heavy rains and speedy winds. Kindgergartens and schools have been shut.

According to Hong Kong Observatory the typhoon could be Strong Wind Signal No 3 by Monday afternoon.

Sarika may hit south of Hong Kong with wind speed of 22km/h and would move west or west-northwest.

The Observatory said, “Under the combined effect of the Northeast monsoon and Sarika, it will be windier with squally showers over the South China coast.”

The current forecast points the local winds would strengthen progressively during the day and Monday’s temperature could be between 25 to 29 degrees Celsius.

The Observatory had issued Standby Signal No 1 at 9.20 p.m. on Sunday.
