Britain too has now joined the US-led bombing campaign against Isis in Syria after its parliament voted in favor of it by 397 to 223 following over ten hours of tense debate.
On Thursday Tornado bombers took off from the RAF Akrotiri air base in Cyprus and targeted Isis sites in Syria before returning back at base. Citing national security anonymous source didn’t detail further about operation information and also about the targets to Reuters.
According to a witness in Cyprus, a total of four jets in pairs took off from the base within an hour of difference. Two bombers have been seen returning after the airstrike.
United States and France have already been bombing the Isis in Syria where as Russia has been bombing other rebels.
The West says Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must go but Russia is in favor of him to remain in power.
Cyprus is 100 km away from Syria. Britain has retained two sovereign military bases here as the country was its colonial power.
Last month terror group launched multiple attacks in French capital Paris that killed 129 innocent people and injured 300 others. Isis claimed responsibility of the attacks.
