Brussels Attacker Najim Laachraoui Worked At European Parliament

One of the Brussels attackers is reported to have briefly worked at the European Parliament through a cleaning company that was contracted in the summer of 2009 and 2010, said a spokesman for the EU body.

Spokesman Jaume Duch Guillot said without naming the attacker that he had held a summer holiday job as a student for one month in 2009 and one more month in 2010 at the European Parliament.

Guillot added the contracting company had submitted proof of the attacker’s absence of a criminal record.

A police source named the attacker as Najim Laachraoui to NBC News.

Laachraoui had blown himself at the Brussels airport on March 22.

Lately officials also believe Laachraoui had made bombs for Paris attacks that took place last year on November 13.

He is also believed to have traveled to Paris with Salah Abdeslam, who is suspected of aborting his suicide mission during the spree.

Abdeslam is awaiting extradition to France. He was captured in Brussels last month after being on run for about four months.

An airport and a subway station were attacked by suicide bombers on the morning of March 22 this year in which 32 people were killed and more than 300 were injured. The responsibility was claimed by ISIS terror group in Syria.
