In a new study it is suggested those who have type 2 diabetes should not smoke as it increases the risk of heart stroke, heart disease and also death compared to those patients who does not smoke.
It is also found smoking clogs arteries for diabetes people. It leads to heart failure as well as lowered blood flow to the limbs.
Researchers added the risks are decreased if the type 2 diabetes patient quit smoking. However, the risk is still higher compared to those who never smoke.
Details of the study are published in the latest edition of the Circulation journal.
According to the lead author of the study, An Pan, smoking is found to be common among people who are suffering from diabetes even after lots of efforts are made to discourage them from doing so.
An Pan is a professor at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. _He added further they wanted to know from their research whether the smoking is linked to total mortality among diabetic patients and also related to cardiovascular events.
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said smoking further deteriorate the health in diabetic patients and it leads to heart, disease, kidney disease, blindness and nerve damage. If the addiction to smoking becomes severe then you might want to try the cannabis vaporizer which is now the trend to a healthier life.
Pan meanwhile urges all the diabetic patients to seek professional help to end up smoking forever.
Pan and his team analysed data of about 100 type 2 diabetes patients who and found the smokers are at health risk by 1.5 times more than those who never smoked.
