UK voted last week to leave EU and Germany’s Angela Markel urged Britain to set out plans leaving the bloc to the earliest.

Tuesday meeting was Cameron’s final EU summit. He announced will be standing down too by October this year.

Without Cameron, the remaining 27 leaders will be discussing the future of EU without United Kingdom at the Belgian capital Brussels.

It is true the UK referendum has shaken entire Europe to the core and hence the Brussels meeting will be calls for unity as well as reform of EU.

Cameron meanwhile said the EU wanted to have closest possible relationship with Britain after the vote that favored Brexit, but immigration was a matter of concern.

Merkel warned Cameron not to expect cherry-pick aspects of the EU and cannot access to the single market if the country cannot accept free movement.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said it should not take months for Britain to activate Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty that triggers withdrawal talk.

Cameron said to be handing over the procedure to the new government.

Juncker said, “If someone from the Remain camp will become British prime minister, this has to be done in two weeks after his appointment.”
