Following Divorce With Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Misses Her Mother

Talking to her longtime friend, journalist Marianne Pearl last April for the current edition of Elle France, Angelina Jolie remembers her mother, French-American actress Marcheline Bertrand saying her six children with estranged husband Brad Pitt will miss the love and care of a grandmother.

Jolie divorced Pitt last year in September and together they have six children – Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Her mother died in January 2007 after battling long from cancer. She was 56 then.

The 41-year-old actress added, “She would have thrived as a grandmother… I know how much she would have contributed to their lives.”

Bertrand divorced actor Jon Voight when Jolie was just a toddler and she raised her two kids, Jolie’s brother Haven too, alone. She had small roles in films and one of the best examples is 1983’s The Man Who Loved Women.

Jolie said being a mother is the greatest gift and responsibility, which means doing everything to live by your values and set example to your kids.

For the actress the past one year was filled with tensions and stress as she filed for divorce from Pitt and since then their personal life was put under a microscope.

Recently Pitt admitted the problem in their marriage was his drinking.
