The search giant has now changed its mind and policy as well. It is starting to eliminate the requirement, but very quietly though. Tech websites like Android Police and TechCrunch have confirmed the new change, which will be rolled out across accounts gradually.

Several users have started reporting they are now able to post reviews on Google Play without their Google+ account.

However, it is not yet known how long Google will take to lift the restriction across the world and for everyone. Let’s hope it won’t take much time.

Apart from this the company has also nixed the “+1” voting.

The change is not surprising as Google had recently shown distancing its major applications and services away its social platform. In July 2015 it removed Google+ from YouTube and in January this year Google announced to be doing the same for Google Play Games.

New Gamer Ids were given instead for gamers thereafter to sign in and it was linked to the regular Google account.
