Switch Cross-Platform Games

This play is a type of multiplayer support that allows both computers and consoles to play the same game together. So, for example, if you’re playing on a PC and your friends are on consoles, you can all still interact with one another. In addition, you’ll be able to see which platform they’re on to connect with them. The first cross-platform play was available for Rocket League, but more and more developers are introducing cross-platform play with their games.

The process starts by opening your game’s online store page and selecting “Play Cross Platform” when you reach the purchase screen. After that, players can team up or go head-to-head against anyone, regardless of which platform they own. Friends and players on different platforms can enjoy the same great gameplay opportunities, creating new experiences and fun scenarios. You can now play with anyone from the living room couch to the dorm room desk.

Consoles are increasingly more potent as hardware evolves. Utilizing this ability, developers have developed games that run on multiple consoles and allow players to connect between platforms seamlessly without extra purchases or downloads if they live in different regions. In essence, this allows you to get the best of both worlds, both a single-player experience AND a multiplayer experience across all systems simultaneously.

What is Cross-Platform Play?

Switch Cross-platform games when developers allow different platforms to share the same online servers in a game, allowing players to join regardless of their platform. The first instance of cross-platform play occurred on Rocket League in 2015, with Psyonix working closely with Nintendo and Microsoft. They implemented cross-platform play with the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

In June 2017, Psyonix announced that cross-platform play would come to Rocket League. This feature means that PS4 and PC players can play together on the same servers, but not with Xbox One players due to restrictions; however, Microsoft has said they plan on bringing it back in some form.

Psyonix has confirmed this feature will also be coming to mobile devices, with Google Play supporting crossplay between PC, Android, and iOS devices. At the same time, Steam is only available for PC gamers. However, Psyonix has not confirmed if there are any plans to make an Apple TV version of Rocket League.

Apex Legends

People quickly removed the post, but people captured this before people deleted the post. Microsoft initially blocked Sony’s request for crossplay but has now changed its policy and allows this feature in some games.

Chivalry 2

A Ubisoft community manager has confirmed this feature; however, there hasn’t been a release date announced yet. They want to ensure they get it right regarding gameplay and balance. NBA Live 19

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The developers have announced that they are looking into cross-platform play between PC and PlayStation 4; however, there is no word if this will be coming to Xbox One. War Thunder

War Thunder has implemented crossplay between PS4 and PC since December 2017. It means that players would be able to join together with friends on the same server playing together with their own unique vehicle set and personal hangar.

League of Legends

The game has been confirmed to have crossplay between PlayStation 4 and PC. It is a change from the previous announcement in June, where they only announced it would be coming to Xbox One. Planetside 2

If you tried the game, you know it’s available on PS4 and PC, but not Xbox One or Nintendo Switch. The game is available on all platforms. However, players cannot play crossplay between platforms because it uses a Sony-based server.

Guild Wars 2

The game has been confirmed to have crossplay support between PS4 and PC; however, no word was given by people about how this feature would be coming to Xbox One. The game has had crossplay since the beta of the game; however, a full version release did not come out until they implemented this feature when they released the Heart of Thorns expansion in 2015.

Wrapping up the article: Switch Cross-Platform Games, cross-play has increased in popularity after Microsoft reversed its position on the matter and is now allowing crossplay with other platforms. Some games have had this feature for a while now, while others are still waiting to implement it. It remains to be seen if any game will allow players to play together on their Nintendo Switch consoles; however, even if they do, it won’t be possible on PlayStation 4 since Sony is blocking Sony players from playing together with other users.
