Downtown Charleston Parks

Waterfront Park, located on Concord Street, is a great place to start and end the day. Take a blanket and enjoy a picnic on the grounds and cool off in one of two large fountains. Stroll down a covered boardwalk off this 1,000 foot park and view sailboats and large ships that cruise in and out of Charleston’s harbor. Within walking distance of the park is Bike the Bridge bike shop that has individual bike rentals and guided bike tours. Nearby Aquarium Wharf offers an intimate, two hour sail aboard the Schooner Pride, or hop aboard the Carolina Belle, a 300-passenger vessel at Charleston Maritime Center for a 90-minute harbor cruise.

Massive oak trees, gazebos and gorgeous harbor views offer a welcome respite during a day of exploring. Fort Sumter is visible from the park and classic, Charleston mansions surround the sides and back.
