Honor 5X US Variant Gets Android Marshmallow Update

Android Marshmallow has hit the US variant of Honor 5X smartphones. The update is to come with Huawei’s EMUI skin too.

It is to note here Honor is a subsidy of Huawei and the company is doing good on its own so far with number of successful smartphones launched.

The Honor’s compelling mid-ranger was launched originally last year in October in the Chinese market. It hit the US shelves a month later in November. The device came with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

It is said the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to bring some interesting features to the device including Doze to save battery, system optimizations throughout, Google Now on Tap and Runtime Permissions.

The Huawei’s own EMUI 4.0 to bring personalized navigation bar, one-hand mode and several other good features.

The Honor 5X comes powered with a Snapdragon 616 CPU, a 5.5-inch full-HD display, 3GB or RAM (2GB for US variant), 3,000 mAh battery, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and metal body.

The update is OTA (over-the-air) and can also be manually checked by heading into Settings > Updater > Check for Updates.

The device was priced tagged $199 in the US during launching.
