Mosul is the last major city stronghold of the terror group in the country and the troops are trying dislodging the ISIS militants dug in among civilians.

The UN humanitarian coordinator’s office said, “The situation in eastern Mosul city close to the front lines remains fraught with danger for civilians. Mortar and gunfire continue to claim lives… The limited supplies of food and water are running out, amid concerning reports of food insecurity emerging from the city.”

Lately the water pipeline was hit during the fight resulting with water cut to 650,000 people that accounts to 40 percent of total residents in Mosul. With the upcoming winter poor families will find difficulties to feed themselves as prices of food and other necessary items are rising constantly.

Experts believe more and more civilians will suffer if the fight lasts longer as they become exposed to the violence for longer period.

Less than a month ago dead bodies of about two dozen people were displayed, at road junctions in the city as if they were crucified.
