No tsunami threat any further in the wake of massive 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Indonesia short that killed four, one out of heart attack.

Indonesia earthquake: Tsunami warning lifted

The disaster agency initially issued the warning Friday night but lifted it after about two hours. The warning affected at least 1,000 residents in the coastal area of Indonesia.

The powerful earthquake destroyed at least two dozen houses across Indonesia. Several other constructions received minor damages. The tremor was felt in Jakarta.

According to US Geological Survey, the earthquake was centered 151 km from Banten province off the southwest coast of Indonesia.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Agus Wibowo confirmed Saturday four people died in the earthquake.

Wibowo added four others were injured out of panic in Banten and West Java, and 223 houses were damaged.

Most of the houses were damaged in Banten’s Pandeglang, the region where a deadly tsunami hit lsat December.

Indonesia is earthquake prone and volcanic eruptions zone. It is located along the Pacific Ring of Fire.

In 2004 about 226,000 people were killed after a tsunami had struck off the Indonesian coast after an earthquake of 9.5-magnitude.
