ISIS Committing Genocide Against Yazidis: UN Report

United-Nations-mandated human rights inquiry released a report titled They Came To Destroy: ISIS Crimes Against The Yazidis and reveals the ISIS is committing genocide against Yazidis and this is something crimes against humanity.

Chair of the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, Paulo Pinheiro, said genocide has occurred by the Islamic militant group and is ongoing in their controlled areas.

Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said the organization has subjected every woman, child and man who are Yazidi.

Still thousands of Yazidi women and girls are held in their captivity and are being abused.

The report adds the terrorist group has sought to erase the Yazidis through inhuman and degrading treatment, killings, enslavement, torture, sexual slavery and forcible transfer causing serious bodily and mental harm.

The ISIS has also been transferring the Yazidi children from their families and placing them with their own fighters with the intention to cut them of from their own religious beliefs. Measures have also been taken to prevent Yazidi couple from giving birth to baby.

The report further mentions the Yazidi women and girls, as young as 9 years, are being sold, gifted and willed between fighters constantly.

The girls are sold in slave markets in the Syrian governorates of Raqqah, Hasakah, Homs, Aleppo and Dayr Az- Zawr.
