Kenya has emerged to be the third top destination in Africa for rich individuals. A report reveals the country has beaten Mauritius and Seychelles.

The Afrasia New World Wealth report reveals the High Net-Worth Individuals (NHWIs) highly preferred Kenya after South Africa and Morocco.

In 2016 4,000 NHWI visited Kenya and the figure was 5,000 for Morocco and 15,000 for South Africa.

However, Botswana too remained at the third place with Kenya in most visited African countries for holidaying by multi-millionaires.

The report defines multi-millionaires as those individuals whose net worth is about $10 million.

The top destinations in Kenya by these individuals in 2016 were Nairobi and Maasai as both the places offered safari experiences.

The other popular hobbies for the rich people were golf, cycling, horse riding, tennis, art collecting, skiing, fly-fishing, collecting watches and collecting cars.

The report added, “Wildlife safaris were the most popular pastime for African HNWIs in 2016. Notably, over the past few years cycling and car collecting have become more popular, whilst golf, tennis and horses have become less popular among African HNWIs.”

Cape Town, Durban, Paarl, Johannesburg, Franschoek, Kruger Park and Stellenbosch were the most popular travel spots last year in South Africa.
