Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta asked the voters of Nairobi to elect candidates of his Jubilee party in the upcoming assembly election scheduled to be held on 8 August 2017.

Reaching to the people on the streets of Nairobi with stopovers at places like Wakulima Market, Muthurwa, Kayole, Mwiki and Githurai, the president said Governor Kidero failed in his tenure in fulfiling the commitment and Jubilee has many qualified leaders as replacement.

Kenyatta was accompanied by deputy William Ruto and several aspirants for various elective seats in the assembly urging voters to vote out Governor Evans Kidero.

The President added governors control various resources but the city had in recent past little to show for those.

He said, “You know the Nairobi government you elected. What has it done? Tell me.”

Kenyatta was accompanied by former assitant minister Margaret Wanjiru, former MP Peter Kenneth and Senator Mike Sonko too. All the three have declared interest in the Nairobi governor seat.

Kenyatta addressed to the upcoming voters to get registered themselves before the February 14 deadline as low turnout has been seen this time and feared IEBC might miss the target of 6 million additional voters.

The president also dismissed the National Super Alliance (Nasa) as the leaders had nothing useful to offer to the people.
