A man, being on a terror watch list for past more than two years, killed today his mother and sister in a town named Trappes, which is near to French capital Paris. One person was injured too in the attack. Later, confronting police the man was shot dead.

ISIS terror group has claimed responsibility of the attack saying the man was its fighter, but a caution has been urged by experts about not to believe the announcements that came through the propaganda channel. Motive of the man is yet not clear.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb tweeted, “My first thoughts go to the victims and their loved ones… I want to commend the security forces for their exemplary reaction and mobilisation.”

Population of Trappes is just 30,000 and is in the suburbs of greater Paris area. It is about 30 kilometres southwest of Paris and known for gangs, poverty, hardline interpretations of Islam and couple of more such social problems.

Trappes is also near to the wealthy area of Versailles, which is well known across the world for popular Versailles Palace.

French security sources had earlier revealed through news agency AFP that some fifty locals may have left France to join the ISIS group in Syria and Iraq. Since 2015 France has been on high alert following several jihadist attacks in which about 250 people lost their lives.

Meanwhile, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who heads the ISIS terror outfit, is heard in a newly released audio recording urging Muslims to wage “jihad”.
