Miley Cyrus performed her new single Slide Away at MTV VMA

Miley Cyrus has a rocky history and her solo performance at the MTV VMA 2019 on her new single Slide Away became an instant favorite among fans.

The artist released Slide Away just few hours before her performance. Fans noticed connection with songs like Malibu, which mentions her appreciation for the ocean and for the beach.

Miley Cyrus was dressed in all black at the MTV VMA event Tuesday evening. Her performance was rather simple, and black and white.

One of her fans commented on YouTube, “Studio version more like she finally accepted the break up. but in this live version, its sound very sad and emotional, its sound very angry yet desperate. Miley never fails to amaze me.”

The singer was also nominated for Best Song of the Summer and Best Power Anthem for her song Mother’s Daughter. Her fans believe she would have been nominated for more as she deserves more. One of her fans tweeted, “For the next time, don’t use Miley only like a performer in the show, she deserved more than one.”

Miley Cyrus however failed to gram any award this year. In 2014 she was awarded Video of the Year for her Wrecking Ball music video.

Earlier this year the singer premiered her EP, entitled She Is Coming.
