Even after a month of the first report of Note 7 bursting the Samsung engineers are yet to come up with exact reason of the mishappenings that caused plane delays, house fires, and governmental investigations.

The Galaxy Note 7 is currently out of production and the New York Times claim Samsung does not know why the flagship devices are spontaneously combusting.

The South Korean giant has deployed hundreds of employees to work on the problem, but none has yet replicated it amid reports of flaming devices mounting up.

Initially the company said Note 7 devices got issues with its batteries and manufacturing flaw was blamed. In mid-September a replacement batch was shipped and the batteries were exclusively sourced from a different supplier. However, the so-defined “safe phones” too started catching fire and a full recall was issued.

Former director of the Center for Advanced Batteries at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, Park Chul-wan, said it is early to blame the batteries as nothing seems wrong with those.

He reviewed Samsung’s regulatory agency’s documents and added, “The Note 7 had more features and was more complex than any other phone manufactured… In a race to surpass iPhone, Samsung seems to have packed it with so much innovation it became uncontrollable.”

Meanwhile, the complete recall of Note 7 has hit Samsung’s finances hard and the company has lately slashed its third-quarter profit forecast by one-third.
