Tanzanian President John Magufuli has cracked down heavily once again and ordered Friday dismissal of over 9,900 civil servants across the nation for having forged school and college certificates.

The dismissal also included several senior officials too such as head of government’s anti-corruption body, head of the port authority and tax chief as part of his fight against corruption that he has been working on after being elected as president in October 2015.

For years business houses have complained about corruption in the government and inefficiency too which have worked as obstacles for them in the country.

In March 2016 over 19,700 ghost workers were uncovered in the country’s public sector payroll.

Receiving a report on academic fraud in the civil service the president said they are trying hard to create new jobs for others while people in the government are seen having fake degrees.

Magufuli added Tanzania had been losing 238 billion shillings each year by paying to ghost workers. However, now they have been removed from the payroll.

He has ordered the officials to name as well as shame those found holding fake certificates by publishing their names as they have robbed the government for having no qualifications for the government positions held.
