Americans have always been unabashed of this mad affinity for anything British – their customs, traditions, their knee-weakening accents – everything British is as cool as it gets. Even the rise of British actors in Hollywood cannot be missed, and with Eddie Redmayne winning this year’s Oscars, one could say that it is happening again – the Anglomaniacs are back in the game.
Nominated along with Redmayne is another British actor that America has come to love and worship – the formidable Benedict Cumberbatch. Cumberbatch became a household name for his portrayal of the most beloved detective of all time, Sherlock Holmes. First aired in 2010, the TV series gained too much infamy in the UK that it has reached the Land of the Free, making the actor an instant hunk (hello, Cumberbitches!).
With Anglomaniacs preaching their Gospel round and about America, it is not surprising why nearly everyone found themselves packing their suitcases to venture to London.
Should you feel this urge, we recommend you drop by these spots, which were preserved in honor of the great Sherlock Holmes:
