In a new study researchers reveal New Year’s resolutions mostly fail and only a fraction of people are capable of keeping those.

The most common New Year resolutions are weight loss and sticking to more resolutions. A new Marist poll discovers “being a better person” tops the resolution list in America.

Jane Ehrman, a behavioral health specialist at the Wellness Institute of Cleveland Clinic, said for many the time when year changes is the time when a reflection of past and what to seek in future works in mind and so improving towards better strikes.

Dr. Stephen Graef, a sports psychologist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, said the New Year’s resolution is just a buzzword for may crazy people and the biggest mistake one makes is setting goals which becomes too big or too many.

He added, “Most people have a toxic relationship with the term. So from the beginning we set ourselves up for failure because we know that anywhere from 50 to 80 percent of people are going to ultimately get off their path of resolution.”

It is strongly suggested to be strong and honest while making New Year’s resolution. Experts say to follow the below SMART method:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-based
