It has been about a week of the partial government shutdown and amid such situation president Trump threatened on Friday to be shutting down southern border and cut off aid to Central America as well if wall funding is refused by Congress.

The president tweeted he would be forced to permanently close the Southern Border if the money to finish the Wall is not given by the Obstructionist Democrats.

Spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, incoming House speaker and Democrat of California, said the Democrats are unitedly against the funding for an expensive border wall that was earlier said Mexico would be paying for the construction.

In his tweet Trump also talked about cutting off aid to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras as the countries are doing nothing for the US against taking the money and should be punished.

Last month too Trump threatened to close the border permanently if Mexico refuses to send asylum seekers to their own countries.

There were couple of more tweets from Trump on Friday and in one of those he writes North American Free Trade Agreement cost the US too much and so closing the Southern Border would be a profit making operation.

A spokeswoman said Melania Trump is at Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago, over the holidays while Trump has postponed his 16-day stretch at his private club in Florida due to shutdown.

The president would remain in Washington on the eve of New Year.
