Van’s deputy governor Mehmet Parlak said two police officers and 38 civilians have been injured in the attack.

Turkish state news agency Anadolu reports the Kurdish militants are being suspected to have carried out both the attacks in the two cities in less than 24 hours.

The first bomb exploded in front of a police station and the near police headquarters in Elazig. Ambulances were seen heading toward the blast site immediately after the explosion.

No group has yet claimed responsibility of the attacks, but violence between Kurdistan worker’s party (PKK) and Turkish government forces have been usual since 2015 when a peace process crumbled.

Earlier this year in February a bomb attack in Ankara killed many and PKK had taken credit of it. It targeted off-duty police officers.
