Uber Announces Color Matching Method To Spot Driver Easily

Now it will be much easier for you to spot your Uber driver. A new initiative has been launched by the ride-sharing company. A thin SPOT device is learned to be attached to the car on the passenger side of a windshield.

Uber said when a passenger requests for a trip, a color need to be selected in the app and this will be matched with the SPOT device in the car.

A total of six colors are provided to choose from in the app and the chosen one will be blinking on the SPOT device. Similarly, an option to blink the same color on the mobile screen is also featured to help the driver find its passenger who has requested for a trip.

Uber writes in a blog post, “When riders and drivers can easily find each other, we’re able to trim down wait times, which is a win for everyone.”

Presently the SPOT technology will only be tested in Seattle area and other cities need to wait until it is successful here.

Uber added the technology may also be considered as a safety for both parties. It will ensure the passenger doesn’t get into a strange car and also the driver does not pick up a strange person.
