War Hero, US Senator John McCain Dies At 81

US senator John Sidney McCain III died Saturday, August 25, at 4:28 p.m. local time battling with brain cancer. He was well known as a war hero who fought in Vietnam. He had run for US president in 2008 and lost to Democrat Barack Obama. He was 81.

Released official statement reads, “When he passed were his wife Cindy and their family… At his death, he had served the United States of America faithfully for 60 years.”

TV footage showed local residents came at his home in Sedona, Arizona, bearing flowers to their late politician titan. A sign near the driveway of his home read, “Sen McCain, thank you for your service.”

Ex-president Barack Obama said, “we are all in his debt… John McCain and I were members of different generations, came from completely different backgrounds and competed at the highest level of politics.”

The statement of Obama read they shared a fidelity to something higher even though there were differences in views.

Former vice president Al Gore said he had always respected and admired the war hero from the opposite side of the aisle.

President Donald Trump said he had sent deepest respect and sympathies to John McCain.

John McCain had been outspoken Republican critic of Trump and Trump on the other hand had mocked his war record.

John McCain was close friends with Senator Lindsey Graham and former senator Joe Lieberman. The three was dubbed as “Three Amigos.”
