According to Regional Governor Ali Yerlikaya, the explosion at wedding celebration occurred on a street of Akdere neighborhood of the Sahinbey district.

Video footage after the terror attack showed rescue workers lifting victims into ambulances in the darkened street.

Gaziantep bureau chief Orhan Akin said about twenty ambulances attended the spot to carry the injured.

No group has yet taken credit of the attack.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the perpetrators of the terror attack saying, “Those, who cannot overcome Turkey and try to provoke people by abusing ethnic and sectarian sensitiveness, will not prevail.”

Erdogan added he does not differentiate between his government’s three opponents – ISIS based in neighboring Syria, Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and FETO network of US-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen.

Gulen is also being blamed by Erdogan to have masterminded last month’s failed coup attempt.

Several attacks in Turkey over past months have been carried out by ISIS and also the PKK.
