YouTube announced today live-streaming from mobile apps will be made available to all its users.

Earlier too YouTube offered the feature, but it was limited to only verified channels and the live video broadcast was done through the Creator Studio.

The new announcement now puts YouTube into direct competition with Facebook’s Live Video and Twitter’s Periscope. The two services have been recently announced too.

The broadcast will be easy and users just need to tap on a big red button seated at the lower right-hand side of the screen. First a selfie is to be taken for the thumbnail and then to proceed with the live-streaming part.

YouTube has one big reason to remain on top of the competitors. It is natively all about videos and so will be able to cater the service to all types of creators whether the user is a celebrity or an amateur or a professional broadcaster.

Previously the platform had livestreamed events like Coachella in 2016, Felix Baumgartner’s leap from space in 2012 and the Royal Wedding in 2011.
