Aluminum maker Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) released that a slight surge in profit, thanks to its strong aerospace and automotive divisions that narrowly made up for a worldwide aluminum glut that continues to depress prices. Alcoa, the first main U.S. firm to report quarterly earnings, posted a profit of $140 million, or 10 cents a share, up from $138 million, or 12 cents a share, for the second quarter. Revenue rose 1% to $5.9 billion. Shares of Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA) opened at $10.74 with 1222.38 million outstanding shares and hit to its highest price of $10.97 during the day and finally closed at $10.59 by scoring 0.86%.

United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) slightly up in previous session as it opened its new Global Business Services (GBS) center in the city of Lodz, making it the second GBS center of its kind in the country. The innovative center highlights UPS’s commitment to continued investment in Poland and will create 130 additional jobs in the area in 2015. Additional employment opportunities in finance and accounting are anticipated in the future. Vice President, UPS GBS, Carol Brolley stated that Poland represents an important market for UPS and their customers. “This new GBS center in Lodz will allow us to increase the efficiency of our administrative operations throughout Europe, which will result in improved quality and standardization of processes, while offering skilled jobs to members of the community in the Lodz area.” United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) stock hit highest price at $96.82, beginning with a price of $96.58 to close at 95.75 by an advance of 0.27% with a day range of $95.72-$96.82. The total market capitalization remained 86.29 Billion, total volume of 2.04 Million shares held in the session was surprisingly higher than its average volume of 3126.53 shares.
