Ballistic Missiles Test Shows Capability To Attack US In Pacific: North Korea

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un the latest tests of ballistic missiles shows capability of the country to attack the US in the Pacific.

On Wednesday the US military officials and South Korea claimed North has launched two intermediate-range missiles from the east coast and one was a failure where as the second reached high altitude and then plunged into the sea about 400 km away.

According to KCNA news agency of North Korea, the tests were successful and it did not put security of neighboring countries at risk.

KCNA added the missile was a “Hwasong-10,” which means Mars in Korean language.

The agency quoted Kim saying North Korea now has the capability of attacking the US in the Pacific.

The missiles were launched from mobile launchers and carried a range that can destroy all of Japan as well as the US territory of Guam.

Jeon Ha-gyu, South Korean military spokesman, said the second missile demonstrated technical progress of the North related to the engine capacity.

The tests were condemned by South Korea, US and Japan as it violated the UN Security Council resolutions.

Earlier this year in March the UN Security Council imposed new sanctions on the North after a nuclear test in January.
