Daily Fantasy Sports Cannot Continue Unlicensed: Nevada Gaming Control Board

Daily fantasy sports is not just limited to sports but it is a form of gambling and so it also needs a license to operate in Nevada, says A.G. Burnett, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

He added the activities of daily fantasy need to cease and desist from Thursday. Operators can apply for a license. If not, there are felony fines as well as ten years in prison.

FanDuel daily fantasy operator said they are highly disappointed only incumbent casinos in the state to offer fantasy sports.

Being one of the prominent daily fantasy operators, the FanDuel added further the decision of Nevada Gaming Control Board ignores fantasy sports is a skill-based entertainment product and millions of fans play it.

FanDuel director of communications, Justin Sacco, said the new decision of the board deprives the sports community vastly who are fans of the fantasy sports.

DraftKings spokesperson said they disagree to the new decision of the board and also will temporarily disable their product in the state.

DraftKings too is one of the well known daily fantasy sites.

The other states that have banned daily fantasy sports without license are Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana and Washington.

There are several states too that prohibit some form of the game.
