Facebook CEO March Zuckerberg is now a dad of a little baby Max. His wife Priscilla Chan gave birth to the girl child last week, but the announcement was made just yesterday.

Facebook CEO Announces His Dadwood, Pledges Sharing 99 percent To Charity

The social platform mogul announced through his Facebook page his plans to give away 99 percent of his shares over the course of his life.

According to the Forbes’ Real Time Billionaires ranking, Zuckerberg is presently the seventh richest person in the world and the next money pledged is estimated worth of $46.8 billion. It will go to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the main focus of it will be to pursue its mission by funding non-profit organizations, participating in policy debates and making private investments.

In December 2010 the Facebook CEO joined the Giving Pledge and revealed he would be giving away at least fifty percent of his net worth. With the latest announcement the couple has upped the ante.

“My hat’s off to Mark for making a decision he’ll never regret and making a difference he’ll forever be remembered for,” said an active philanthropist and the billionaire CEO of Bloomberg LP, Mike Bloomberg.

Facebook was founded about a decade ago in 2004 and it claims more than 1 billion people use the social platform every day and also more than 80 percent of those users live outside US and Canada.
