Media and entertainment conglomerate, The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) hired Christine McCarthy as its senior executive VP and CFO, effective immediately. McCarthy, till currently treasurer of the firm, succeeds James Rasulo, whose resignation Disney released earlier this month. Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger stated that Christine has done an incredible job as Disney’s Treasurer over the past 15 years, and her strong leadership and keen financial acumen make her an ideal Chief Financial Officer. Disney also named Kevin Mayer as its senior executive vice president and chief strategy officer. The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) begun last trade with a price of $115.38 and throughout the trading session climbed at a high of $115.67. The day-trade ended with -0.14% to $114.97.

Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc(NASDAQ:AVNR) recently released that top-line data from the PRISM II study showing that treatment with NUEDEXTA was connected with a statistically significant decrease in symptoms of pseudobulbar affect  in patients with traumatic brain injury or stroke. PBA is a distressing condition characterized by sudden as well as uncontrollable outbursts of laughing and/or crying resulting from certain neurologic diseases or brain injury. The primary endpoint of the study was change from baseline in PBA symptoms as measured by the CNS-LS, an instrument originally validated as a measure of PBA episode frequency and severity in patients with ALS and MS. Determination of effectiveness was based on a comparison of CNS-LS change in PRISM II with that seen for NUEDEXTA and placebo in a previous pivotal phase III study.

Embraer SA (NYSE:ERJ) and Boeing (BA) released that that they intend to work together to test environment-focused technologies through the ecoDemonstrator Program in a joint effort to get better aviation’s environmental performance. This enlarges ongoing cooperation among two of the world’s leading airplane manufacturers. Boeing launched its ecoDemonstrator Program in 2011 to accelerate testing and use of new technologies that can reduce fuel use, carbon emissions and noise. The company has so far tested more than 50 technologies with a Next-Generation 737-800, 787 Dreamliner and, currently, a 757. Through their collaboration, Boeing and Embraer are planning to conduct ecoDemonstrator tests with an Embraer airplane in 2016. Embraer SA (NYSE:ERJ) has the market capitalization of 5.58 Billion. Shares of firm surged 0.93% to close at $30.31 with the total traded volume of 503654. The firm has current ratio of 2.10 for the most recent quarter.
