Rebel Wilson Reveals Her Fat Figure Helped Building Comdy Career

Heavy-weight comedy actress Rebel Wilson revealed talking to Australia’s The Daily Telegraph she had gained weight to take entry in Hollywood.

She said her first play was alongside a heavier actress and found the girl got a lot of laughs, even a lot easier than her.

She added, “Because I don’t think there’s much difference in talent. And I remember distinctly thinking: ‘I think it’s because she’s fatter.”

The Los Angeles-based actress thereafter gained weight and said this was the major reason her comedy career flourished.

She found her size being advantage in her career even though many actresses believe it to be a disadvantage.

With her extra weight the 36-year-old received major praise for her role as Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect franchise. The actress also rose to fame for her role and now is set to reprise the same role in the upcoming third instalment.

Her role is also memorable in Bridesmaids as a weird roommate and as nun-chuck-wielding nurse in Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain.

Currently Wilson is in London and busy making her West End debut in Guys and Dolls.

She enjoys playing tennis and before getting fat she maintained an athletic build body.

It has been reported the actress was contractually obligated to maintain her fat figure for Pitch Perfect 2.
